A Great Loss

On August 3, 2008, while on detached service with the Third Regiment of United States Infantry in Lincoln town, New Mexico Territory, Sergeant Leroy Grizzell of the First Texas Light Artillery fell. Valiant efforts by his comrades and medical personnel failed to prevail and Hospital officials pronounced him dead at approximately 2:30 PM.

We are much aggrieved. Our sympathy and condolences to his wife and family, including his daughter Annette, Captain Steven Grizzell, First Texas Light Artillery, and Private William Grizzell, also of the First Texas Light Artillery.
